Simple Projects
making a difference

Del
Meet Del, she has been getting out of her comfort zone and aiming to walk 57km's in August to raise awareness and funds for National Breast Cancer Australia. Del is a very generous lady and is also currently lending a hand at East Kimberley Primary school as a teacher assistant. Del also invited my wife and I over for dinner and we have had the pleasure of trying her famous cutlets (best I've ever had).

Unfortunately, Del lost a close friend to breast cancer and wanted to do what she could to support the people who can help.
I think we all realise how precious life can be, especially when we lose someone close. Raising awareness and funds for organisation's who can help is one way we can make a simple difference.
Her aim is to reach $300.

Georgia
Meet Georgia, her simple project was to run 12km's non-stop at the 2023 HBF Run for a Reason.
Georgia, who had never considered herself a runner, set herself a challenging goal of running 12 kilometers at the 2023 HBF Run for a Reason. The distance seemed daunting, but she was fueled by a powerful motivation: to raise $1000 for Breast Cancer Research WA. Georgia's determination was deeply personal, as she had witnessed three close family members, including her mother in 2018, battle cancer. Thankfully, her mother emerged as a survivor, but the experience left an indelible mark on Georgia's heart. Running with purpose, she aimed to honor her mother and all the women affected by breast cancer, hoping to make a small but meaningful impact on their lives. The support she received from friends, family, and the community exceeded her expectations, resulting in a remarkable fundraising total of over $1500. Georgia's achievement serves as a testament to the strength of love and determination, inspiring others to make a difference in the face of adversity.

Hackett x 3
Kris, John, and Jacob Hackett, a close-knit family known as Hackett's x3, embarked on an extraordinary journey to commemorate John's 60th birthday. Inspired by the spirit of adventure and the desire to make a meaningful impact, they set their sights on completing the iconic Kokoda Trail. This challenging expedition was not only a physical test but also an opportunity to celebrate their father's milestone and give back to the community.
The Hackett's x3, fueled by their shared love for adventure and a deep sense of purpose, set out to conquer the Kokoda Trail. This formidable trek spans approximately 96 kilometers through the rugged and unforgiving terrain of Papua New Guinea. With their unwavering determination, the trio committed themselves to completing the trail in just eight days, pushing their physical and mental limits along the way.
However, the journey was about more than personal achievement. Recognizing the opportunity to make a difference, the Hackett's x3 decided to raise funds and awareness for the Soldier On charity. This incredible organization supports veterans and their families, providing them with the resources and assistance they need to navigate life beyond their military service. With each step they took on the Kokoda Trail, the Hackett's x3 aimed to bring attention to this noble cause and make a tangible impact on the lives of those who have served their country.
Through their determination and the generosity of their supporters, the Hackett's x3 exceeded all expectations. Their fundraising efforts garnered over $400 for the Soldier On charity, a testament to the power of unity and the collective belief in a greater cause. This remarkable achievement demonstrated the immense capacity of individuals to come together and effect positive change.

Mikey and The Kuus
'Herdy' is a crazy event where you run around Herdsmen Lake (6.71km's) , and then once you finish the lap you drink, sit, eat and then on the hour you get up and start another lap. This goes on until last person standing. It is the true test of physical endurance and mental stamina. Mikey and The Kuus put their body, mind and soul though this challenge.

It was an incredible effort from both of them with Mikey completing 12 hours of running, clocking 80kms. The Kuus managed 20 hours of running and a total of 140km's. A bloody incredible effort by both of them, truly pushing their bodies to the limit. FYI Mr. Phil Gore won the event with 57 hours of running, covering more than 380km's.

Great effort by all. To re-cap the event hit up our Instagram.

To Freo and back is a 61km walk/jog to not only raise awareness and funds for SpinalCure Australia, but to provide an opportunity to reflect on how lucky some of us are."

The group will be walking/jogging along the coast on Saturday, 18th of Feb, starting at 2:45pm and heading south towards Fremantle (Perth), along the beautiful coastline.
